Lake Time

Nova came to my rescue in the middle of the night - Thanks Nova!

Alone in the dark II

So I locked myself in the room. Looking back, I’m sure I looked quite hysterical. I was wearing leopard bootie shorts with hot pink trimming and had a black stiletto in my hand for protection. My initial reaction was to reach for my hairspray but how much harm can organic hairspray cause, really?
It doesn’t take Nova long to pull into my driveway and come to my rescue. I kick my bedroom window screen out and flag her down. I toss my keys over to her and she heads for the door. Zoey, her yellow lab, leads the search. As soon as they make it inside the snarling and barking stop. Nova turns on all of the lights and heads for my room. Together we search every room and closet and come up empty handed. The dogs are calm and wonder what we are looking for.
It’s obvious there is nothing there. I can’t believe it! I thank Nova for coming to my rescue, keep the lights on and lock myself and Soffie in the bedroom. I finally muster the courage to turn the lights off and then I hear it again. Barking, snarling and then scratching…Not again!

Alone in the dark

So, I’m laying in bed with Soffa (toy poodle) – lights out, doors locked, windows open – It’s the first time I’m actually alone at the lake house and as I’m dozing off to sleep Soffa jumps out of bed and begins to run around in the dark growling. She disappears into the darkness of the hallway and all I can hear is how ready to attack she is. As I head for the bedroom door to see what the big fuss is, I hear a snarl and then I hear Soff growl back – We are not alone.
